Origins
Born into a family of dress-makers, early exposure to made-to-measure garments would eventually put founder, Godwin Hili, on the road to creating beautiful, tailored fashion.
Whilst undertaking a business degree, Godwin quickly came to realise that the 'dressing up for work' component brought him the most pleasure. Establishing a close relationship in Australian manufacturing, it was here that Godwin was able to begin his exploration of fine tailored garments, taking inspiration from his father’s vintage wardrobe. Modifying and replicating old jackets, trousers and waistcoats, it wasn't long before he was wearing his own creations. The path had been determined, to create his own tailored fashion label.
Spending the next twelve months under the careful guidance of senior tailors, the tailoring workshop that once supported his hobby had now become his classroom. Resigning from all work commitments, it wasn't long before Godwin was committed to the development of his own label, it was here the Godwin Charli was born.
